Please click on the files below for an overview of the subjects and themes we are covering in Trenoweth Class, as well as our Topic Web for the term.

Please find below some helpful information about Trenoweth Class.

Reading

We look forward to developing a love of reading with your child. At Crowan Primary, we believe Reading is the key to unlocking educational and lifetime opportunities. We really welcome your support with this and ask for you to read with your child at least five times a week and log this in their reading records. Once the children have read a certain amount of times, they will receive coloured wrist bands - please see the letter sent home about this, or alternatively the wristbands and required reads are written at the back of the reading record. It is important that your child’s book bag is in school every day and we ask you to check book bags regularly as we often send home letters and notes in them.

Phonics

At Crowan Primary, we follow the 'Read, Write, Inc' programme which is having a big impact on the children's reading and writing. Please look under the phonics tab on the school website for further details.

PE

Please ensure your child's PE kit is in school everyday. P.E is usually on a Wednesday and Thursday, although this does sometimes change depending on our busy schedule! Your child will have the opportunity to take part in swimming lessons later in the school year.

Please can we ask you to clearly label your child’s belongings to ensure everything makes its way back to the correct child.

Spellings and Homework

All children will be sent home with weekly spellings and these are kept in the children's spellings folders.

Year 2 children will also have a short piece of Literacy and a short maths task to complete each week. This will be given out in their homework books on a Thursday and should be given in by the following Tuesday.

We feel it is very important to work with our families to ensure your children are settled and happy in school, ready for a day of learning.  If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak with us at drop off or collection.
