Releath Class
Welcome back to the summer term.
This half term out topic will be 'Big Wide World'. We will be learning about the world around us, near and far and will be exploring different countries and cultures. We will also investigate beyond our own plant, looking at space and those who have travelled there and how.
In Literacy and Phonics we will continue our learning Set 2 sounds, looking at how we can use these in our reading and writing. We will continue to write CVCC and CCVC words and will learn how to write simple phrases and sentences, using finger spaces and full stops.
In Maths we will begin learning numbers past 10, starting with teen numbers up to 20. There will be a focus on composition of numbers as well as sharing and grouping.
P.E. will be on a Friday with Mr Bromley. Please make sure your child's kit is in on this day.
Wellies will need to be in school each day to allow us to go outside in all weathers.

Reading
At Crowan School, reading is always a priority. We use 'Read, Write' Inc' to teach our children phonics from the start of Reception and encourage children to use their sound knowledge when in school and at home. More information can be found in the links below. We work in partnership with parents and keep a reading diary that documents when each child reads with an adult, both at school and at home.
We also believe that high quality texts are paramount to engage children and create lifelong readers, who read for pleasure.
We aim to link our texts to our topic and below you can find our book spine that informs you of the stories and texts we will be looking out over the course of each half term.
